Investing in Women Code Australia

Building a clearer picture of how women-led businesses move through Australia's investment pipeline.

IWCA brings together Venture Capital, Angel, Program and Venture Debt organisations to build consistent, longitudinal evidence about the experiences of women-led businesses seeking investment in Australia.

Better evidence. Better conversations. Better outcomes.

Improving access to investment begins with understanding where opportunities progress—and where they do not.

IWCA establishes a consistent reporting framework for tracking investor-company opportunities over time. By bringing this information together responsibly, the Code helps identify patterns, inform industry discussion and support practical action across Australia's investment ecosystem.

Turning pipeline activity into meaningful evidence

Consistent reporting

A shared reporting standard creates a more reliable view of how companies progress through investor pipelines.

Longitudinal insight

Each reporting submission preserves historical reporting, enabling progress to be understood over time rather than as a single snapshot.

Collective learning

Participating organisations contribute to an evidence base that can support informed discussion and positive change across the investment community.

A straightforward reporting process

1

Join the Code

Participating organisations are invited to join IWCA and nominate an Investor Administrator.

2

Submit cycle data

Investors upload a standard XLSX or CSV reporting file for the reporting cycle communicated for the pilot. Calendar quarters are the intended post-pilot model.

3

Validate and review

The platform checks the submission against the agreed reporting format and identifies issues requiring attention.

4

Approve and analyse

Once approved, the data contributes to the investor's own results and IWCA's authorised aggregate reporting.

Purpose-built for responsible reporting

For participating investors

  • Submit and review XLSX or CSV reporting files for each communicated cycle

Insight without exposing individual investor pipelines

IWCA is designed around clear information boundaries.

L
Investor Privacy

Participating investors can see only their own results. They cannot view another investor's identifiable pipeline or company-level activity.

A
Admin Oversight

IWCA Administrators can monitor reporting and access approved aggregate information for internal programme purposes. Identifiable information is not shared between participating investors.

!

The platform's security, hosting and data-handling arrangements will be finalised and verified before identifiable pilot data is accepted.

Following progress over time

Focus: IWCA reporting focuses on investor-company opportunities rather than individual investment transactions.

Longitudinal: Each reporting submission and period records the current position of a company within an individual investor's pipeline. Previous reporting periods are preserved, creating a longitudinal record of how that opportunity progresses.

Confidential: Where several investors are engaging with the same company, each investor-company relationship remains separate and confidential.

Help build a stronger evidence base for investment in women

IWCA provides an opportunity for Australia's investment community to contribute to a consistent, practical and responsible approach to understanding pipeline outcomes.

If your organisation is interested in participating, we would be pleased to hear from you.
